Holiday Apartments in Ostuni (BR) - Masseria Sole del Salento

The splendid country house (called Masseria Sole del Salento in our program) is surrounded by ancient olive trees and is situated in an idyllic position and dates back to the nineteenth century. It is situated halfway between Ostuni and the sea. The actual owner, who teaches Art History, has inherited from his family this historical property that occupies an area of more than 100,000 square metres and has so been able to realise his life’s dream. Originally, the country house was lived in and used in the production of extra virgin olive oil and the training of racehorses. Here and there are to be found objects that reminds one of those times. Today, there are three very charming and tastefully decorated apartments. The renovation works have been recently completed; these dwellings are furnished in an individual manner and offer a splendid and immense terrace that has a surface area of several hundred square metres. Under the olive tree, the very charming exterior area is reserved for breakfast time for the Marilena apartment that is on the ground floor, after which during the day; this can be used also by guests of the other two apartments.

This combination of more than one apartment offers the ideal solution for groups of friends or large families. In addition, the Villa Conca D’oro lends itself perfectly for this purpose.

Alice Apartment on 1st floor for 3 (+1) people

In the large bedroom with high vaulted ceiling, the white limestone walls mix harmoniously with the ancient stone. From here one can access the old loggia from which one can enjoy a splendid open view of greenery. From the bedroom, one can reach a small single room that is ideal for a child. The kitchen with living area has an old fireplace (just for decoration) and a dining area. It also has a bed-settee that if needed can be used to sleep a fourth person. The bathroom with shower cubicle is of a modern design with wall-hung sanitary ware.

This apartment like the others stands out because of the terrace that surrounds the house and offers a beautiful view of greenery. The sunbeds, reclining chairs, sun umbrellas and the stone benches with cushions promise relaxing hours in the open air in the company of one’s family and good friends. Naturally, there is also the opportunity to try typical Puglia dishes, during the day or in more romantic moments under a starry sky.

It is possible to breathe the aroma of Mediterranean scrub, and it is the ideal place to hear the swirl of wind and observe the colours of the Salento in all of their hues, namely, the white of the old city of Ostuni, the blue of the sea, the yellow of the sun and finally the green of the olives.

Greta Apartment on 1st floor for 2 (+1) people

The charming décor of the house is most evident here. The bedroom with fireplace (just for decoration) and a view of the endless olive trees evokes an eastern charm and creates a magical atmosphere that wraps around the guests.

The bathroom in this apartment is of a modern specification. Very original and special are the stone shelves used for storage of crockery and other items thus replacing the traditional kitchen cupboard. The modern white and yellow seats add a contrast in colour to the surroundings.

As a guest of this home there is also the fantastic terrace which is comfortably reached by way of the kitchen. Here one can meet for morning breakfast or for an aperitif at dusk at the end of a warm day by the sea.

Marilena Apartment on the ground floor for 2 (+1) people

The home on the ground floor is made up of a single room of large dimensions. Also in the case one cannot fail to be enchanted by the presence of old stone and vaulted ceilings. The iron double bed blends harmoniously into this ambience. The alcove where one can store one’s clothing and so on is open but covered by long almost transparent curtains. A bed-settee is available for a third person if needed. The en-suite bathroom is situated in a part of the room which was at one time an alcove. The shower area, separated by a glass partition has been formed out of the original stone. The room also has a kitchenette.

The external area under the very charming olive tree mentioned previously is reserved for breakfast time for the Marilena apartment. As well as this, the guests of this apartment have the use of a part of the grand terrace.
